Support
Dolaima is a coding agent, and also a programming workbench that lives on your phone: a code editor, a virtual machine and compilers for many languages, and an AI assistant that can read and edit the files in your project. Here is where to go when something is wrong.
Contents
1. Check these first
Most questions are already answered in the on-site docs; looking there usually saves a round trip:
- FAQ — installation, configuration, model selection, compiling and running
- Guide — the whole flow, from first launch to daily use
- Download — install steps per platform; the upgrade notes live there
- Privacy Policy — where your data lives (keys included) and how to delete it
Two of the most common symptoms, and what to check first:
- The chat will not send / it says no key is configured. Make sure your own API key is entered (the desktop build walks you through it on first run; on the phone it is Settings → Model → pick a provider → paste the key). If it still fails, check whether the key expired or the account is out of credit — such errors come from your provider; Dolaima only relays them.
- The AI is slow, or requests time out. Dolaima does not proxy requests; speed is whatever your provider gives you at that moment. Switching to a faster model is usually the fix.
2. How to report a problem
If the docs did not cover it, come and tell us — questions, bugs and feature requests are all welcome:
- GitHub issues: github.com/alecksty/waycoder/issues (public, so others can find the answer too)
- Email: alecksty@163.com (use it when the report cannot be public; Chinese is fine too)
We usually reply within a few business days (holidays may take longer).
Reporting a compile error? Please include all four:
① the full error text (first line to last, not just the interesting middle)
② the language (C / BASIC / Pascal …)
③ the file name ④ the line number
Adding how you ran it (desktop or phone, which version) and the steps to reproduce saves another round trip.
Want a language or a feature added? Open an issue and describe your use case; we do read them.
3. Common entry points
Configuring a model API key
Dolaima does not include model credits. The key is yours, obtained from your own provider
(DeepSeek, OpenAI, Qwen, Zhipu, Ollama …), and usage is billed by that provider directly —
we never resell or proxy it. The key you enter is stored on your machine only (desktop:
~/.waycoder/; phone: the app's private directory) and is never sent to us.
Step by step, see "Getting started" (desktop) and "Mobile quick start" in the Guide; for exactly where the configuration and data sit, see "Where configuration and data live".
Upgrading
The desktop build updates itself: waycoder --update checks and replaces the binary.
You can also just download the single file again from the Download page.
The phone edition updates through the app store (the App Store does not allow an app to update
itself).
Restoring your purchase (Full Edition)
Full Edition is a one-time in-app purchase, not a subscription: Settings → Full → Restore purchase, signed in with the same Apple ID — you are not charged twice. Changing phones or reinstalling the app works the same way. The free edition includes the editor, plus compiling and running C and VML assembly; Full Edition unlocks the compilers and the optimizer for all 22 languages. Payment and refunds are handled by Apple, so refunds go through Apple's process.
4. What support covers
What we can help with: installing and launching Dolaima, its interface and workflow, its tools and agent behaviour, the built-in compilers and the VML virtual machine, the sample programs, and the purchase or restore of the in-app upgrade.
What is outside this product's support: billing, credit, rate limits, accounts and policy changes at third-party model providers, along with outages on their side. Those are theirs to decide; we neither handle them nor can act on your behalf, and the related errors come back from the provider — the most we can do is confirm that an error is indeed theirs.
Worth knowing: Dolaima reads, writes and runs files in your workspace; that is what it is for. Use it with backups in place, and keep sensitive files out of the workspace — see the Terms of Use.
